Trivia
The drysuits used by the gang were custom made for the production in two weeks by husband-and-wife team Gareth and Tina Roberts of Gryphon Watersports in Staffordshire, England. Only one of the ten suits ordered had to be fully functioning and waterproof, but the tight deadline still meant that the couple had to work round the clock to get the suits ready in time for the shoot in Amsterdam.

When Bruce Willis is in Tess's hotel room, Linus says to Bruce, "We're looking to come off this pregnancy thing strong. You know, that little statue on the mantle starts smirking at you after a while, know what I'm sayin?" Bruce says no, he doesn't. Both Julia Roberts, whom he refers to, and Matt Damon have been awarded Oscars, while Willis has not.

Matt Damon requested just prior to the beginning of production that the script be revised so that his character would have a smaller role in the story. Damon had just finished shooting The Bourne Supremacy (2004) and claimed that he was too exhausted to play a character that had such a major role in the movie. Director Steven Soderbergh denied Damon's request, claiming that he felt Damon's character was integral to the plot and that giving Damon less screen time would diminish his character's impact on the plot.

Goofs
The pillars in Amsterdam are driven into the sand to stabilize the foundations of the houses. There is no water surrounding the pillars at any level. The film suggests that the houses are built like offshore platforms which is simply not the case.

After their arrest and subsequent "extradition," the thieves are seen being driven away from a "Polizia" Station. In actuality, they would have been arrested by the Carabinieri: a very separate and more militarized division of Italian law enforcement. In fact, one of the Carabinieri's specific jurisdictions is the investigation and recovery of stolen artwork.

Early in the film Danny is seen riding in Amtrak car 54525, presumably in Connecticut, but this type of train car is not used in Amtrak's Northeast Corridor service and is primarily seen in the Midwest.

Q
Why did the Night Fox tell Benedict about Ocean?
A
Toulour was angered when LaMarque, his mentor, agreed with 'a very loud and annoying businessman' that Danny Ocean was the greatest thief in the world. Toulour decided that the only way it could be proven or disproven would be if he challenged Danny to a 'duel'...both of them going after the same item.
Q
How soon after 'Ocean's Eleven' does 'Ocean's Twelve' take place?
A
Three years later, evidenced by the fact that this is Tess and Danny's 'second 3rd anniversary,' having reunited at the end of Ocean's Eleven and begun counting their anniversaries all over again.
Q
Is 'Ocean's Twelve' based on a book?
A
Ocean's Twelve is a sequel to Ocean's Eleven (2001). The script for Ocean's Twelve was written by American screenwriter George Nolfi using characters created by George Clayton Johnson and Jack Golden Russell for the original 1960 Ocean's Eleven. Ocean's Twelve was followed by Ocean's Thirteen (2007).
