In the first draft, Eve was 2000 years old and the druid of a matriarchal Celtic tribe. Adam was 5-600 years old. Jarmusch decided that Adam and Eve would be aware of each others true age so he argued they have no reason to state it in the film.

The word "vampire" is never used throughout the film.

Dr. Watson makes a comment about the stethoscope around Adam's neck. The ear pieces are hanging on Adam's left side. In the shot in the hallway, the stethoscope is now hanging with the ear pieces on his right side.

When Marlowe dies, on the close-up shot of Eve as she raises her head from crying, Marlowe is quite obviously breathing.

When Adam and Eve, in Tangiers, get up to turn "the lovers," Eve leaves the flask and her left-hand glove on the bench. The next cut is a two-shot with Eve wearing the left-hand glove, but not the right. This is either a continuity error or it is an ironic gesture that the entire film to this point has been shot in reverse image as they are vampires without a reflection.

Eve: I'm gonna get you that present. Give me all your money, baby.

Eve: So this is your wilderness. Detroit.

Eve: I'm sure she'll be very famous.
