According to Colleen Moore's biography, Clara Bow only worked two days on the film before quitting. Moore says nothing of her fears about being upstaged by Bow and doesn't suggest that Bow gave any excuse to leave the production other than that she hated her role.

'Clara Bow' was originally cast in the role of 'Colleen Moore''s kid sister. After Moore refused to let the director shoot a close up of Bow, fearing she would steal the scene, Bow decided to take her revenge. She drove to her doctor complaining about a sinus condition and requested that he operate on her right away. She came to the set the next day covered in bandages, forcing the company to re-cast her part and re-shoot three weeks of footage which she had worked on.
