Brady Allen's character, Robbie, was named after Robbie Mannheim, a child that in 1959 was alleged victim of an evil possession and he had a exorcism to save his life.

As with the previous three Paranormal Activity movies, Paramount Studios utilizes paranormal investigator/researcher, Christopher Chacon, (who is recognized as one of the world's foremost authorities on paranormal phenomena), to internationally promote and publicize this fourth installment. Chacon also works in the entertainment industry as a writer, director and producer.

Goofs
When Alex crashes backwards through the garage door, we hear the sounds of the car hitting the door before the car even hits it.

When Holly is cooking dinner the knife flies into the ceiling. Later that night when Alex goes to the kitchen the knife is not in the ceiling.

When Alex shows Ben the footage from night #1, the Calendar icon in the OSX dock clearly shows a one-digit number (possibly 6, since that's the date it's supposed to be). However, when the shot changes to a closeup, the icon now says it's the 17th.

Q
A Note Regarding Spoilers
A
The following FAQ entries may contain spoilers. Only the biggest ones (if any) will be covered with spoiler tags. Spoiler tags have been used sparingly in order to make the page more readable.
Q
How long did Robbie stay with the Nelsons?
A
According to the timestamps on the videos, he stayed for eight nights.
Q
What are the differences between the Theatrical Version and the Unrated Version?
A
Just like the previous ones, the third sequel gets an Unrated Cut as well. The new footage doesn't improve the weakest part so far at all but it doesn't make the movie worse either. They're a nice bonus and that's it. One shouldn't expect classic unrated footage though. But then again who would have expected otherwise? In total the Unrated Version features nearly 10 minutes of extended and new footage and a detailed comparison between both versions with pictures can be found here.
