Showing weightless items and people inside a rotating spacecraft is not a mistake. It's common for spacecraft to rotate to evenly distribute the heat of the sun. In the Apollo program it was called "barbecue mode".
The spacecraft carrying the last group of colonists rotates continuously during flight, yet nothing inside is experiencing centrifugal force, including a book that floats in weightlessness.
