Trivia
With the exception of Valerie (Amanda Seyfried), all the characters from Daggerhorn are either played by actors with brown eyes or wearing brown contact lenses. Most notable of the latter is Julie Christie, who plays Valerie's Grandmother, who is famous for her blue eyes.

Goofs
Valerie was holding an axe that she snatched from Peter while he wasn't looking. In the next shot, the axe was gone and later appeared on the tree stump.

As this village is small and poor, there is no way all of the villagers would be able to afford to put glass in every window. In the middle ages glass windows were expensive and usually only the rich could afford them. Poor villagers would have normally used dried animal skins scraped very thin to block a window and allow some light into a house.

The hollow metal elephant is based on the Brazen Bull created in Greece. When Claude is thrown into it, there is already steam coming out of the trunk. There shouldn't be any steam as the only water coming out would be coming from the victim inside it. When we later see Claude, whom Solomon had thrown into the elephant, he shows no burn marks on his hands or body.

Q
What are the differences between the Theatrical Version and the Alternate Cut?
A
Only the Blu-Ray version offers the so-called Alternate Cut (a term which you rarely ever find on US DVD/Blu-Ray covers). It's not really an Extended Cut and the usual Unrated label didn't seem to fit to the target audience. The differences in comparison to the theatrical version can all be found towards the end of the movie. There's an alternative and (as the marketing department likes to call it on the backside of the cover) more "provocative" ending. The Alternate Cut was also rated PG-13. A detailed comparison between both versions with pictures can be found here.
Q
Is 'Red Riding Hood' based on a book?
A
Red Riding Hood is loosely based on the fairy tale 'Little Red Riding Hood'. The tale was adapted for the movie by screenwriter David Leslie Johnson. Just prior to the film's release in 2011, a novelization written by American author Sarah Blakely-Cartwright was released.
Q
How much sex, violence, and profanity are in this movie?
A
For detailed information about the amounts and types of (a) sex and nudity, (b) violence and gore, (c) profanity, (d) alcohol, drugs, and smoking, and (e) frightening and intense scenes in this movie, consult the IMDb Parents Guide for this movie. The Parents Guide for Red Riding Hood can be found here.
