Redline marks the on-screen debut of the Swedish-made Koenigsegg CCX. Priced at over $500,000, the CCX sports a 4.7 liter twin-supercharged V8 that churns out 806 horsepower and does a top speed of over 245 mph.
The comedian/actor Eddie Griffin destroyed a rare million-dollar Enzo Ferrari (which belonged to the film's producer, Daniel Sadek) on Monday 3/26/07, when he crashed it into a barricade while promoting this movie. He was unhurt in the low-speed incident, at Irwindale Speedway, about 20 miles east of Los Angeles. He was practicing for a celebrity charity racing event tied to this upcoming film, causing $300,000 damage to the car (including labor and parts). Sadek estimated that the car was worth $1.1 million, and said he was just happy that Griffin was unharmed.
During the race between Natasha and Jason which goes terribly wrong with Jason dying we see a helicopter at the start following the cars in the air from behind making video and then when they show both the cars from front there is no helicopter. And keeps on appearing and disappearing all through the race.
The scene where Carlos ride to his revenge mission in a Ducati 999, the engine noise that can be heard coming out is an inline 4. The 999 uses a L-Twin, which make a different noise to Carlos' sportsbike in the film. Ducatis have never used an I4 engine in their R Motorcycles, only V twins, L twins and a V4 (Desmosedici). An "inexperienced ear" might think the sound from the scene is even from an I3 (as used in Daytona 675) or V4 (Desmo, Aprilia 2009) but it is an I4.
When we are first shown the scarred face of the driver who kills Nat's father, the scar is on one side of his face but at the starting line it's on the other side.
Natasha Martin: There are cars that get you from point A to point B. And then there are cars that get you from point A to point B really fast. Fast cars cost big money, and with millions of dollars at stake, there are people who'll do anything to win. People who take risks and never play it safe.
