Trivia
The uncredited Bicycle Boys who challenge Grace to a race are Taylor Lake (purple helmet/son of Don Lake and Claire Lake), and Ross (green helmet/nephew of Bonnie Hunt).
The zoo mailbox was a production prop that turned out to be a major headache, in that it necessitated the presence of a production staff member to prevent actual zoo attendees from depositing their mail in it.
When Angelo is getting ready to roll his bowling ball (the $10 shot that Charlie is IN on), you see the person right next to him in lane 13 bowl a strike and knock down all the pins.
Then a split second later as Angelo rolls his ball, there are six pins standing on lane 13.
When Grace mails off the thank you letter at the Zoo, we see a close-up of the front of the envelope, and in large, capital letters we see R.O.B.I. Towards the end of the movie, when Grace finds her letter on Rob's desk, the letters are NOT capitalized, and MUCH smaller, with no periods: robi.
When Bob takes Grace up on the roof of his building, you can
see that the city lights in the background are a backdrop - a fly is crawling over the windows of the building behind them.
Marty O'Reilly: [spoken to Bob to make him understand how much Bob meant to Grace]
I know that what's happened has been overwhelming. And I know it's going to take a while to sort it all out. But while you're sorting, I want you to remember that all the times I prayed that Gracie would have a second chance at life, I always knew that if God blessed us, the heart she got would have to be from a very special person, if it were going to be at home in Grace. When she met you, her heart beat truly for the first time. Perhaps it was meant to be with you always.
