Trivia
The octopus was created as a new nemesis for Captain Hook because it was felt that the Disney animators had exhausted all the comic possibilities of "Hook vs. the Crocodile" in the original Peter Pan (1953). The octopus's tentacles make a "Pock! Pock!" sound that is similar to the "Tick tock!" sound heard from the crocodile in the previous film.

Kathryn Beaumont, was originally suggested to play adult Wendy since she played young Wendy in the original Peter Pan (1953).

Due to controversy over their appearance in the Disney version of Peter Pan (1953), the Indian Tribe are left out of this sequel. Peter and Jane briefly visit their monuments, however.

Wendy's husband leaves to fight in WWII as the Battle of Britain is beginning. This occurred in 1940, prior to US active participation in the war, but the military truck he leaves home in has the "circled star" roundel of the United States Army rather than the "bullseye" roundel of the UK or the "crowned lion" logo of the British Army.
