Trivia
Wonder Bread, Old Spice, and Perrier were not charged for their product placement in the movie. Old Spice and Wonder Bread promoted the movie through back-end deals while Perrier was not required to take any action despite its presence in the movie. In addition, Ferrell showed up to many public appearances in his Wonder Bread uniform at no additional charge to the company.

Goofs
When five-year-old Ricky steals his mother's station wagon outside the convenience store, the same maroon 1972 Ford Mustang is shown twice. First spinning out from the left as Ricky exits the parking lot (viewed from the store), and in the very next shot, the Mustang swerves again as Ricky navigates the busy street (long view).

At the first race early in the movie when Ricky and Cal are pit crew members, the entire crew has the American flag on their right sleeve displayed backward. The US Flag Code calls for the stars to face in the direction of motion, which would be to the right on a right sleeve.

In the winner's circle at the end of the movie, Cal's earring appears and disappears between takes.

Q
Is the quote in the beginning really from Eleanor Roosevelt?
A
No. The quote was deliberately misattributed.
Q
What are differences Major and Minor From the UnRated DVD and the Rated (PG13) DVD?
A
In the UnRated DVD version of the film the scene where young Ricky steals his mother's station wagon (as seen in the theatrical version) is missing. The "Unrated and Uncut!" DVD version of the film is missing the scene where Ricky recruits his former pit crew from a car wash.In the theatre version of the film, when Ricky goes to Jean's house, he is introduced to Elvis Costello and Mos Def (as Jean's brother-in-law), but in other versions, Ricky is not introduced and when he asks if it is really them, Jean simply says, "No".In the meantime a detailed comparison between the theatrical version and the unrated version with pictures has been created and you can find it here.
