Trivia
A scene was shot where April takes Raph (disguised in his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) trenchcoat) to Vernon without attracting attention. This scene was cut out for running time purposes.
This is the second TMNT live-action film that does not feature Casey Jones. The first one was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991)
The film was originally to be called just "Ninja Turtles", but the "Teenage Mutant" part was put in to please the fans when they expressed negative feedback about it.
The plan to use chemicals to destroy most of the city before offering vaccines would seem shady when the building that exposed these chemicals would be held responsible since it's the same building.
At the start of the snow hill scene, when the semi-truck spins its wheels after being hit by a rocket, the truck only has one drive axle. In every other shot the truck has two drive axles.
At the beginning of the movie April is doing a story about how to stay fit as it is the first day of Spring yet at the end of the movie the Sachs antenna with the toxin inside falls and destroys the Tines Square New Year's Eve ball and 2014 sign. How can it be the first day of Spring yet the New Year's Eve ball is still on display.
Scott Mednick, the executive producer, stated that this film will be live-action. Link. The Ninja Turtles themselves however will be computer animated through Motion Capture, as opposed to using practical effects.Link.
