A multitude of well-known players, such as Ann-Margret, Joan Crawford, Betty Grable, Cary Grant, Jack Haley, June Haver and Gene Nelson, James Stewart, Joan McCracken, Esther Williams, Frank Sinatra, Tarita, Taina Elg, José Iturbi, Doris Day, Judy Holliday and Dean Martin, Lucille Ball, Marge Champion, Gower Champion and the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954) dancers, appear only in brief film clips behind the opening credits, and nowhere else in the film, leading one to believe that a great deal of footage intended to be included never made the final cut.
