Chicago Tribune, Sunday, June 21, 1964:Carroll Baker, who stars in "The Carptetbaggers," opening Friday at the Chicago Theater, will be another Chicago visitor Thursday thru Saturday. At a special showing Friday she will model a jeweled $100,000 diamond-encrusted gown designed by Pierre Balmain for her role in the film. Miss Baker plays Rina Marlow, a tragic siren, in the picture, which also stars George Peppard and Robert Cummings._____________________________________________________
