This movie's original screenplay was written a long time before the nuclear meltdown disaster at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Generating Station in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania on 28 March 1979. However, this movie was shot about six months after this real-life nuclear accident.

This film is notable for the appearance of an army of dark-helmet shade clad face-less people wearing white nuclear decontamination suits and holding atomic detector guns. A photograph of such featured as the cover photo on the February-March 1980 edition of Australian film magazine 'Cinema Papers'.

The movie was notable for its very 1970s electronic score. The film's Australian movie poster emphasized its soundtrack, plugging it in bold letting at the bottom saying: "Soundtrack available on [Channel] 7 Records".

When Larry shoots the man off the roof of his Ute, buildings are clearly visible in the background, but after the camera cuts from inside the car back to the outside, the man is seen falling off the Ute, and there are no buildings in the background.

When Larry runs over a Pluto's Man, the man is seen rolling off the windscreen into the back trailer of the Ute, but when the camera cuts to the inside of the Ute, the camera has a clear view of the back of the Ute, and no one is there, but in the next shot when he reaches for Carmel, he is on the roof of the Ute. It's not possible to get on top of the Ute from the trailer in that span of time, especially at the high speeds that Larry was traveling throughout the car chase.

(at around 19 mins) The number plate seen on Bisley's holden LS-170 is not on the vehicle (rear).

Eagle: Listen, WALDO isn't exactly human. WALDO is a multinational corporation, working the ass-end of the nuclear cycle. Professor Heinrich and I once conjected the possibility of a high-level nuclear excursion, thats a link! Now, last night, he reversed charged a call from here, and he was cut-off before I could get the details, but it was quite obvious that he was in BIG TROUBLE!
