The rain, snow and icy breath effects in the movie were all done by CGI.

A documentary film is being made of the making of _Cutting Edge 2, The (2006)_. The director, Sean McNamara, and other cast and crew members were interviewed on the patio of rooms 122 and 124 at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort (21100 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, CA 92648) on 27 June 2005. Part of the film was filmed on 27 June and 28 June 2005 at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort. The front desk of the hotel passed out a one sheet note informing guests of the following: "Welcome to the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort On Monday and Tuesday, June 27th and 28th, our resort will host a crew on site filming the movie Cutting Edge II, a sequel from a 1980's production. Every effort has been made in cooperation with the studio to minimize any inconvenience to our guests. Beyond the occasional "quiet on the set" and studio staff in the public areas, the hotel will be operating with your comfort in mind. Please enjoy your visit to Huntington Beach, the Hollywood of Orange County! The Management"

The original "The Cutting Edge" was set in the year 1992. If Kate and Doug had married right after the Olympics and had Jackie nine months later, their daughter would only be age 14 at present. Jackie Dorsey is portrayed as a twenty something character in the movie.

When Alex walks into the kitchen after the "shower scene" he has his jacket under his arm. During the time he is eating his banana, it disappears.

They use the exact same clip twice in a row, "Jackie, turn around" while Jackie is going after Alex on the surfboard.

Kate Moseley: No! Absolutely not! Nobody does side by side triples! It's too dangerous [to Jackie] Kate Moseley: You agreed to this? Jackie Dorsey: [nods sheepishly] Kind of. It was a long flight.

Jackie Dorsey: Toe pick!

Jackie Dorsey: [to Alex] Yes. The answer to everything is yes.
