Each boss represents a different aspect of Ruvik's broken mental state - The Keeper (or Safe-Head) represents Ruvik's desire to protect his secret research, The Sadist (Chainsaw Boss) portrays Ruvik's homicidal rage, the Long-Haired Creature is based on Ruvik's memories of his sister, and the Camouflaged Tentacle Creature represents his desire to stay hidden from the world.
