ANick takes possession of Grey House and immediately puts it up for sale. While working on their history project, Lori and her friend Jess (Jordy Benattar) discover a book of stories written by Elizabeth Merowick that shows Captain Hamlin was merely a fictional character, so Nick's claim to being his descendant can only be a lie. Meanwhile, Jake has asked a forensics chemist to test the authenticity of Nick's deed and learns that it was only recently written and chemicals were used to make it look aged. Jake also runs a fingerprint check on Nick and discovers that he's been working a scam all over the state where he shows up with falsified documents claiming ownership of a property and then sells the property at a huge profit. When Jake and Cassie return to Grey House to arrest him, Nick tries to run away but Cassie's creeper vines catch and trip him. Cassie moves back into Grey House and the Middleton Bicentennial goes on as planned in her garden. Even Martha admits that the house and garden are lovely and adds that she knew Nick was up to no good from the start. During the fireworks that follow Cassie's welcoming speech, Jake asks her to marry him, and Cassie accepts.
QHow much time has elapsed between the first movie and this one?
AAbout a year. The Good Witch ended on Halloween, and it's fall again in The Good Witch's Garden. In the interim, Cassie has had Grey House renovated and put in a tremendous garden, which would require at least a full growing season.
QWhat is 'The Good Witch's Garden' about?
A'Good witch' Cassie Nightingale (Catherine Bell) is remodeling Grey House into a B&B. As the oldest house in Middleton, it's going to be featured in the Middleton Bicentennial celebration. Nick Chasen (Rob Stewart), her very first guest, claims to be the rightful owner, based on papers that show him a descendant of Captain Charles Hamlin, proof that Elizabeth Merowick was Hamlin's lover not his wife, and an ironclad deed to the house. On the other hand, Cassie has only a handwritten, non-notarized note.
