Every thing that is shot in the studio is filmed live in front of an audience. The scenes that are shot on location are showed to the the live audience and then the laughter is recorded.The directors and actors gauge their the show and performance on the laughter. Often something looks great and hilarious on paper but then it doesn't go over so well with an audience.
