In order to add more realism to the movie, the Lego bricks have scratches, fading, and even fingerprints to make the movie look like someone was manipulating real bricks in a stop-motion fashion. The Bricks are also affected by their locations, with the bricks in The Old West realm being more dusty and faded from the sunlight.

Goofs

When President Business becomes Lord Business, his hair piece is removed and replaced with his helmet piece. However, when Emmet forces his way into his lair and knocks his helmet off, his hair piece is underneath.

When The Man Upstairs is almost convinced that his son Finn is right, the camera focuses on just The Man while he's thinking. On the LEGO building to his right, a flashing red dot from the filming camera is visible in the reflection. In a similar shot a few seconds later, the dot is visible again on another building.

When Finn gives Emmet the Piece of Resistance, he places it in his right hand. However, as Emmet is placed in the Magic Portal, the Piece of Resistance is now in his left hand.
