The Henry James novel that Nick and Wani try to turn into a film is "The Spoils of Poynton" from 1897. The producer they meet with complain about the story's unhappy ending and the name of the main character, Fleda Vetch.
In the pub scene for Nick and Leo's first meeting, "time" is called at the end of the evening by the real landlord of that pub, the Windsor Castle pub.
The title refers to a feature of architecture, a concave shape combined with a convex shape, known as an ogee. "Ogee" is also the name of the magazine that Nick and Wani publish in the series.
