John Schuck who plays Herman Munster had previously played the role of Frankenstein's Monster in the 1979 TV movie "The HalloweenThat Almost Wasn't", as had his predecessor Fred Gwynne in the original series of "The Munsters" his previous credit being for a TV commercial.

The first and thus far only version of "The Munsters" to feature lyrics with the memorable theme song. The lyrics are as follows; "We're the Munsters. We're the Munsters. We went to sleep twenty years ago, and we woke up with a brand new show. We're the Munsters. We're the Munsters... Today."
