Trivia
In the behind-the-scenes featurette, the Secret Service consultant for the movie stated that 'Eva Longoria' far surpassed the other actors in "shooting school". In fact, he remarked that her score would beat about 90% of members of the Secret Service. Longoria mentioned that when she was younger she often accompanied her father to the gun range, so being around and handling guns wasn't new to her.

The speech heard at the G8 meeting, before that of the American President's, is in Swedish, and closes with the words: "... vägnar vill jag tacka er för att ni stödjer Kyoto-protokollet. Tack så mycket," which means, "... I want to thank you for supporting the Kyoto Protocol. Thank you very much."

Goofs
When approaching the Marine One helicopter, the President salutes the marine at the foot of the steps leading into the helicopter, and the marine returns the salute. This is the complete reverse of what should happen - the marine should salute the President, the Commander-in-Chief, not the other way round.

Pete Garrison's national security adviser requests a list of personnel with "Q" clearances. Q clearances are granted strictly by the Department of Energy and are the equivalent to other agency's Top Secret clearance. Instead of dealing with encryption as the national security adviser mentions Q-cleared employees deal with nuclear power and weapon capabilities.

When Breckenridge is examining the body of Agent Merriweather, he lifts a brass casing from beside the body. The shooter was at the foot of the stairs and a casing ejected from his gun would not have traveled forward and ended up next to the body. It would have been found to the right or behind where the shooter was standing.

Q
Why did the FBI agents jump Garrison in the parking garage?
A
The unknown blackmailer who sent the incriminating photos to Garrison also sent a note telling him to come to the Mayflower Hotel at 10 AM. When he got there, Garrison was redirected by phone to the Las Palmas coffeeshop, where he waited but the blackmailer never showed. After leaving the restaurant, he noticed that he was being followed, so he gave his follower the slip and then began to follow the follower. The follower turned out to be an FBI agent who reported that he was being followed. The FBI, in turn, jumped Garrison when the follower led him into a parking garage. When the FBI learned that Garrison was with the Secret Service, they apologized and let him go. Unfortunately, the Las Palmas is a known hangout for members of the Barantia cartel, something that is used against him as evidence when Breckinridge (Kiefer Sutherland), head of the Secret Service Protective Intelligence Division, later comes to arrest him for treason against the United States.
Q
What is 'The Sentinel' about?
A

Q
Is "The Sentinel" based on a book?
A
