The series was brainstormed on a summer afternoon when Dave and Josh were having a casual swim in a pool together. They had heard of a student-run group at their university which produced television series for the local community station and thought it would be a good idea to pitch a live talk-show to the group. After a series of bizarre events, Dave actually ended up on the board of executives of the group and was put into the position to be able to start up the production of the series after pitching it to the other executives.
