Trivia
This film marks the second battle to the death between characters portrayed by Robert Tessier and Earl Maynard. In "The Deep (1977)" the two muscular tough guys fought in a boathouse, at one point using an outboard motor as a weapon. Here, the fight was much shorter, but in both films the outcome was the same. Robert Tessier's characters were killed.

Two versions were shot of Lee Horsley's crucifixion in the final reel. In the theatrical version, a spike was shown through the palm of each hand. In the version for TV, Horsley's hands were bound to the wood by means of metallic bands.

In Norman Winski's novelization of the screenplay, Talon (Lee Horsley) is spreadeagled and bound face-up -- "stripped to a mere dirty loincloth" -- on a table-top at Cromwell's wedding feast. In the movie, however, Talon is bound upright to an X-shaped cross at the end of the table.
