The violin shop featured in the film, Dahl Violins, is an actual violin shop in downtown Minneapolis. In the film, the shop is supposed to be located in Chicago. However, when Mickey and Randy break into the shop at night, the skyline which is prominently featured in the scene's initial shot is obviously Minneapolis, not Chicago.
What are the differences between the Theatrical Version and the Unrated Director's Cut?
A
The Unrated Director's Cut was released exclusively on Blu-ray, as is usually done recently. Even though the additional footage is mostly just filler material, it's to be preferred over the Theatrical Version. Without the cheerful reggae music during the intro and with different music in general the Unrated Version appears to be a little bit more serious. Altogether the Unrated Director's Cut features nearly 16 minutes of extended footage that are missing in the Theatrical Version. A detailed comparison between both versions with pictures can be found here.
