While filming this movie, Michael Sheen was asked by Ron Howard if he could record a quick moment of dialog for Frost/Nixon (2008). Sheen, covered in fake blood from the days filming, went to his trailer and recorded the dialog, he asked someone to take a picture of him doing it and sent it to Ron Howard, who had it framed and displayed.

Goofs
Just before Lucian tears up the grate to go to Sonja, he is watching the vampires unceremoniously shove the Lycans around. In the first shot of him, his hair is completely out of his face, then it cuts back to the Lycans. In the next shot of Lucian, his hair is very in his face. Then, after another shot of the Lycans putting down axes and such, it goes back, and Lucian's hair is completely out of his face again.

Sonja's eye color keeps changing back and forth between brown (Rhona Mitra's natural eye color) and whitish-blue (contact lenses). The vampires' eye-colors change throughout the movies in the first two films as well. They are often brown (natural eye-colors of the actors/actresses), but change to blue when the intensity of a situation increases. For example, Selene's eyes change from brown to blue during her fight/searching sequences in both movies, as well as her sex-scene in the second film. Kraven's eyes exhibit the same behavior in the first two films.

When the offers of silver are brought before Viktor, it's quite apparent that they're hollow as the actors can carry them with ease. Silver is a very dense metal (10.49g/cm^3) and even if the silver of the coins was watered down, the boxes would each weigh in excess of 50kg (or 110lbs - the weight of a fully grown [and fairly slim] woman).

Q
I've not yet seen the first two movies. Can you explain how these vampires and werewolves came into existence?
A
Back in the 5th century AD, a Hungarian warlord named Alexander Corvinus survived a plague epidemic that decimated his village. Corvinus had a rare blood abnormality that morphed the plague virus in his bloodstream, giving him superhuman strength and immortality. Approximately 200 years later, he fathered three sons. All three sons carried the same genetic defect as well as the virus of their father. One son inherited the virus in its dormant state and remained human. He died a mortal death, passing down the hidden gene. The other two -- William and Marcus -- were bitten by wolf and by bat, respectively, becoming the first werewolf and the first vampire. More about their fates and progeny are presented in Underworld
Q
Why doesn't this movie include Selene?
A
By the fact that Sonja is wearing the pendant around her neck in this movie, Selene (Kate Beckinsale) must be alive at this time, although she has not yet been adopted by Viktor and entered into the storyline. However, it is her voice heard narrating the prologue, and she appears at the very end of the movie in scenes from the beginning of the first Underworld movie.
Q
Why aren't Elders Marcus and Amelia returning?
A
Because they're in hibernation. Back in the first movie, it was explained that, 1400 years ago, Vampires had decided that the best way to ensure the survival of their species was for the three Elders--Viktor, Marcus, and Amelia--to 'leap frog' through time, one ruling while the other two slept, each being awakened at their appointed time according to a never-to-be-broken covenant. In Rise of the Lycans, it is Viktor who is awake.
