Trivia
The actress and singer, Eve, who plays the character Rosa Sparks on the 'Hurl Scouts' used the name 'Eve of Destruction' as her stage name when she began her solo rapping career. Andrew Wilson's coach character 'Razor' is loosely based on in-line skate trainer, stuntman and 'Rollerjam' skater Brian 'Blade' Gallagher who coached both the TXRD and LA Derby Dolls leagues. Brian Gallagher (VI) can be seen coaching the Texas league in the documentary 'Hell On Wheels.' In the film, Razor wears a small dolphin necklace, sandals and drives a dune buggy: all traits shared with the real-life Gallagher. Although it's never mentioned in the story, if you look closely Razor's play book is labeled with his name across the front cover: Brian. In a deleted scene that plays during the credits, Razor can be heard mumbling disapprovingly of the derby girls' kitschy names and scant clothing, which the real life Gallagher also disliked.

Goofs
During the championship game, Drew's character is the jammer (has the star sash on her helmet.) After scoring points, the team regroups and a different character is seen removing the sash and giving it to Ellen's character.

In the food fight scene, Iron Maven throws a french fry onto Bliss' face. Bliss pulls the fry off leaving a smear of ketchup and then tosses banana cream pie at Iron Maven. When Maven retaliates by dumping a chocolate shake onto Bliss' head, the fry is back on her face.

At one point in the movie, the opposing team does a roundhouse punch and knocks down all the members of the team. Any type of violence in Roller Derby (punching, kicking, fighting) would get a player expelled from the game, but the opposing team doesn't face any such reprimanding whatsoever.
