Trivia
In the film, President John F. Kennedy is heavily implied to be a mutant. In the year previous to this film's release, James Marsden (Cyclops) portrayed Kennedy and Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth) portrayed his successor Lyndon Johnson in Lee Daniels' The Butler (2013).

You can see the older version of the character Ink in the beginning of the movie walking with the other mutants and humans at the slave camp. You know this is him because he has the same marking around his right eye like the teenager at the training camp along with havok.

In the scene where Trask and Nixon discuss the implementation of the Sentinel program, an aide is seen switching off a tape recorder. This is a sly reference to the infamous 18 1/2 minute gap on Nixon's Oval Office tapes, long thought to have been deliberately erased by Nixon or his aides to cover-up politically damaging information. Former Nixon adviser H.R. Haldeman has said the erased conversation contained references to Nixon's involvement in the Kennedy Assassination--another subtle joke in the film, as Kennedy is revealed to have been a mutant.

Goofs
As Quicksilver is heading down a the security corridor between the elevator and Magneto's cell, he's required to wait to go through a rotating thick plastic, single opening, security door, which takes several seconds to cycle. On the way out, he is seemingly able to make his way from cell to elevator in his usual split second, almost as if that door wasn't even there.

When Magneto levitates RFK Stadium, it seen with a baseball diamond and configuration. In 1973 RFK Stadium was not being used as a baseball venue as the Washington Senators had moved to Texas following the 1971 season.

Quotes
Senator Brickman: [to Trask] We can't support a weapon that targets our own citizens. If these Mutants as you describe are living here, they are living here peacefully!

Logan: In the beginning the Sentinels were just targeting mutants. Then they began to identify the genetics in non-mutants who'd eventually have mutant children or grandchildren, and they started targeting everyone. Many of the humans tried to help us, it was a slaughter... leaving only the worst of humanity in charge. I've been in a lot of wars, I've never seen anything like this. And it all starts with her.

Q
What is this a sequel to?
A
In chronological order, this film is a sequel that starts several years after the events of both The Last Stand and The Wolverine in a dystopian future and involves a travel back in time some years after the events of First Class in the middle of the 1970s. Cast members from all those films appear. The first three X-Men movies, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and The Wolverine follow chronologically from a timeline established in First Class (although several retcons have been identified); however, in Days of Future Past, due to changes made into this original timeline, a new timeline is created (comparable to what happened in Star Trek), leading to a new separate chronology in which future movies will take place.

A Note Regarding Spoilers
A
The following FAQ entries may contain spoilers. Only the biggest ones (if any) will be covered with spoiler tags. Spoiler tags have been used sparingly in order to make the page more readable.
Q
Is Scarlet Witch in the film?
A
Scarlet Witch, real name Wanda Maximoff, is the twin sister of Pietro/Quicksilver. The two are set to appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron together, although Quicksilver is not portrayed by the same actor and he's presumed to have slightly different characteristics from the character in this film. In fact, only Quicksilver appears in this film. Scarlet Witch was going to be mentioned, but was left out due to time constraints. During the finale, a shot of Pietro shows him with a younger girl (see here). However, she's not presumed to be Wanda, as Wanda is Pietro's twin and should be the same age. The little girl could be Polaris aka Lorna Dane, the half-sister of Wanda and Pietro and daughter of Magneto with similar magnetic powers, though her hair is red instead of green. This may be what confused people into thinking she was Scarlet Witch.
