In 1998 it was reported that Mike Myers would be playing four characters in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), the fourth being Austin's love guru. This character finally surfaced in a starring role in 2008.
The song playing on the radio station Pitka changes to in the car after the bathroom scene is Bohemian Rhapsody, a reference to Myers' film Wayne's World.
In the first game Guru Pitka hits Darren on the head with a stick of yellow flowers (right after he tells him he is not allowed to fight with anyone). Most of the petals fall off. When the camera cuts back as the Guru turns to his assistant the stick is full of petals again as before.
